Privacy Policy

Last updated: January 18, 2026

TL;DR

  • ✓ We don't collect your conversation data. Period.
  • ✓ P2P architecture means data never touches our servers
  • ✓ We can't read your conversations even if we wanted to
  • ✓ No tracking cookies, no analytics on your usage
  • ✓ You own your data. We own nothing.

1. Introduction

VoidAI ("we," "our," or "us") operates assist.voidai.wtf (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use our AI assistant application.

Our core principle: We built VoidAI Assist with privacy-first architecture. We physically cannot access your conversation data because it never reaches our servers.

2. What We DON'T Collect

Due to our P2P (peer-to-peer) architecture, we do NOT collect, store, or have access to:

  • Conversation transcripts - Your audio transcriptions stay on your device
  • Translation data - Translations happen locally or P2P
  • Typing suggestions - Shared directly between peers
  • Voice recordings - Never uploaded to our servers
  • Client information - We don't know who you're talking to
  • Usage patterns - We don't track when or how you use the app
  • Personal identifiers - No email, phone, name required

3. What We DO Collect

For website functionality and security only:

Website Analytics (Landing Page Only)

  • Umami Analytics: Privacy-focused, GDPR-compliant analytics
    • Page views (anonymous)
    • Referral sources
    • Browser type (anonymized)
    • No cookies, no personal identifiers, no IP tracking

Technical Data (Desktop App Only)

  • Crash reports (anonymous, no conversation data)
  • Error logs (stripped of personal information)
  • Device type for compatibility (OS version only)

Optional: Contact Form

If you contact us via our contact form, we collect:

  • Name (if provided)
  • Email address
  • Message content
  • Purpose: Solely to respond to your inquiry
  • Storage: Deleted after resolution (30 days max)

4. How P2P Architecture Protects You

VoidAI Assist uses peer-to-peer (P2P) technology. Here's what that means:

Traditional Architecture (Bad)

You → Their Server → Partner
     ↑
  (They can see EVERYTHING)

Our P2P Architecture (Good)

You ←→ Partner (Direct Connection)

(We only help you find each other,
then get out of the way)

Our servers only facilitate the initial connection (WebRTC signaling). After that, your data flows directly between you and your partner, encrypted end-to-end. We physically cannot intercept it.

5. Data Security

  • End-to-End Encryption: All P2P connections use WebRTC with DTLS-SRTP encryption
  • Local Storage: Conversation history (if any) stored only on your device
  • No Cloud Backup: We don't back up your data because we never have it
  • Open Source: Our code is auditable by security researchers
  • Screen Share Protection: macOS content protection prevents screen recording

6. Third-Party Services

LLM Providers (Optional)

If you use LLM features (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.):

  • Your typed prompts are sent to the LLM provider
  • Subject to their privacy policies (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.)
  • We do NOT log or store these prompts
  • You control: You can disable LLM features entirely

Umami Analytics

Privacy-focused analytics for our landing page:

  • GDPR compliant
  • No cookies
  • No personal data collection
  • Anonymous visit counting only

7. Your Rights

Under GDPR, CCPA, and other privacy laws, you have the right to:

  • Access: Request any data we have (spoiler: we have none of your conversations)
  • Deletion: Request deletion of contact form data
  • Portability: Your data stays on YOUR device, fully portable
  • Opt-Out: You can uninstall the app at any time
  • Correction: Update contact information via email

To exercise these rights, email: privacy@voidai.wtf

8. Children's Privacy

VoidAI Assist is not intended for users under 13 years old. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has used our service, contact us immediately.

9. International Data Transfers

Good news: Because we use P2P architecture, your data never leaves your country. It goes directly from you to your partner, wherever they are.

Our signaling servers (used only for initial connection) are located in the United States and comply with EU-US data transfer requirements.

10. Law Enforcement Requests

What we can provide: Nothing. We don't have your conversation data.

If we receive a valid legal request, we will:

  • Notify you (unless legally prohibited)
  • Challenge overly broad requests
  • Provide only what is legally required (typically just confirmation of account existence, if any)

We maintain a transparency report at: voidai.wtf/transparency (coming soon)

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Material changes will be announced via our blog or email (if you've opted in).

Questions about this Privacy Policy?

Our Commitment

Privacy isn't a feature. It's our architecture. We built VoidAI Assist so that protecting your privacy isn't a policy promise — it's a technical guarantee. We literally cannot access your conversations, even if we wanted to.

Your data goes into the void. And that's exactly where it stays.
